Editorial Guidelines
General
Our Editorial Guidelines have been established to encourage open and honest information exchange about topics related to mortgage finance, personal finance and the real estate and property markets. Publication of your articles is solely at the discretion of the editor, however we will work with all genuine commentators and participants in these sectors to achieve a quality outcome.

Title
To be published on our web site, your Article Title MUST:
- BE IN TITLE CASE which is Upper and Lower Case Letters With The First Letter of Each Major Word Capitalised, although it is not necessary to capitalise common words such as “a” – “the” – “to” – “for” etc.
- NOT BE ALL CAPS.
- READ as fluent, comprehensible language.
- NOT BE “FULLY ENCAPSULATED BY QUOTATION MARKS”.
- NOT end with a period.
- REPRESENT your article.
- NOT CONTAIN Microsoft Word smart quotes. Replace smart quotes with standard quotes/apostrophes/double dashes/or 3 periods in a row.
- NOT CONTAIN REPEATED punctuation!!!
- NOT CONTAIN AUTHOR NAME or any web site URL.
- BE MORE THAN ONE WORD and contain a MINIMUM of two unique words.
- NOT CONTAIN SLANG terms or profanity.
- NOT BE REPEATED within the body of your article.
Content
To be published on our web site, your Article and all content MUST:
- HAVE A DIRECT CONNECTION to Mortgage or Consumer Finance (including credit cards and personal loans) or Real Estate and Property topics in any part of the world.
- HAVE A DIRECT CONNECTION with the title.
- NOT BE A HARD SELL for your products or services.
- BE A COMPLETE ARTICLE for publication on our site.
- HAVE AN AUDITABLE EXCLUSIVE LICENCE to you if ghost written on your behalf.
- BE AT LEAST 250 WORDS and no more than 1,000 words. The ideal article size is 400-750 words.
- NOT CONTAIN OR CITE more than 5 lines of sourced material for every 500 words of copy.
- NOT COMMENT on your own business or that of an immediate competitors.
- CITE ALL QUOTATIONS AND SOURCES.
- NOT CONTAIN any content that is a violation of any law, be considered defamatory, libellous, or infringes on the legal rights of others.
- NOT CONTAIN excessive or bold keywords or phrases. Bolding is limited to headings and subheadings.
- BE SUBMITTED AS A PLAIN TEXT FILE with HTML mark-up.
- BE WELL WRITTEN IN ENGLISH with reasonable attention to spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalisation and sentence structure.
- NOT CONTAIN pornography, adult material, hate or violence-oriented, suggestions of racial intolerance, advocacy against any individual or group; insulting, obscene, degrading tone; or contain profanity or information on hacking or cracking content, bomb creation, support for terrorism, illicit drugs or drug paraphernalia, steroid use or advocacy, references to or advocacy of any weapon; or concepts which promote gambling, alcohol, tobacco or tobacco related products or prescription drugs.
A guide to Links and Notices
Fair inclusion of links and notices is at the discretion of the editor. You should rely on the following to determine what is and what is not accept
- Your Author Name, website URL and brief bio about yourself or your business must be placed at the end of your Article as your Signature.
- Any Copyright notices must also be at the bottom of your article.
- Links contained within the Body of the article are at the editors discretion
- A MAXIMUM OF TWO LINKS are allowed in any Article of less than 400 words.
- A MAXIMUM OF FOUR LINKS are allowed in any Article of more than 400 words.
- A MAXIMUM OF ONE “Self-Serving” active or inactive link to a website that you own, control, or have an interest in.
- DUPLICATE LINKS are not allowed in any one submission which includes the Article Body and Signature.
- SELF SERVING LINKS MUST only be included in your Signature.
- The article Body is your “GIVE” and your Signature is your “TAKE”
- We will format valid URLs included in your Signature
- We will NOT auto-format URLs that are included in the BODY of your article.
- Your links MUST NOT contain a file to be downloaded of any type.
- We do not knowingly allow any URLs in any of our articles that are banned by Google.
- If any link target website engages in questionable SEO practices , we may reject your articles and ban you from submitting future articles.
- We do not allow articles which have strategic keyword anchor text links in the body to your domain that do not add informational value to the article.
- Anchor text link length is limited to 3 words in an article that is less than 400 words.
- Anchor text link length is limited to 5 words in anchor text if your article is more than 400 words.
HTML
The following HTML TAGS are ALLOWED in the Article Body:
- <b>BOLD</b>
- <strong>STRONG</strong>
- <i>ITALICS</i>
- <em>EMPHASIS</em>
- <u>UNDERLINE</u>
- <br> is used to force a hard line return. Use this HTML tag to prevent our system from trying to wrap your short sentences together into one paragraph.
- <pre> and </pre> To make a text table look right.
- <blockquote>TO INDENT A PARAGRAPH</blockquote>
- <OL> and <UL> tags to create a NUMBERED LIST or a BULLET POINT list.
The following HTML TAGS are PROHIBITED the Article Body and may lead to banning your author privileges.
- <p> and </p> are not allowed anywhere in your article. To accomplish the same thing as the <p> tag, just make sure there is one vertical space between each of your paragraphs.
- <JAVASCRIPT>
- <IMG SRC>
- FONT TAGS of any type.
- <H1>, <H2>, <H…> or HEADING TAGS of any type.
- <HR>
- ANY INVALID HTML code.
